A 6-day trip in th Baltic States

The three Baltic States are full of history and culture, and they are magical in different ways for each season. Unfortunately, due to time schedules, we could only visit the 3 capitals and their nearby, but I would love to go back and visit them more.

From Italy, we arrived at the airport in RIga, but we directly took the car and drove towards Vilnius. We stopped at the Rundale Palace (80 km-1h24), famous for its rose garden: it is the biggest one in the World. We then arrived in Vilnius (237 km-3h), where we spent the following day. You cannot miss the walk on top of the hill from where you can see the entire town. Close to Vilnius, we also drove to Trakai Island Castle (29 km-40 mi,), a very nice castle in the middle of a lake.

The following morning we got ready for our long drive to Tallin, but before arriving we stopped in Parnu (476 km-6h), the most famous seaside location on the Baltic Sea. We swam and let me tell you that the water was slightly colder than the Mediterrenean one (lol). On the other hand, it is surprisingly less salty than other seas.

Our next stop was Tallin (127 km-1h40); it really is a fairy tale city, with small colored houses all over the town. I felt in love in a heartbeat. The next day we had to drive back to Riga (311 km-4h), where we finally went around the city to discover it. This capital was as beautiful as the other 2, and each one of them has something magical and unforgettable.
