A 4-day bike trip on the Indre
For the long weekend of the 14th of July, we decided with Clement and Christophe to do a 140 km bike tour on the Indre, a left tributary to the Loire. We therefore took our bikes from Paris and with the train we arrived at Azay-le-rideau, where the first stop was the amazing Castle. After lunch, we rode the bicycles to another castle, te so called “maison de Balzac”, or the Chateau de Sache. The view was amazing, but getting tere was hilly! We camped at Montbazon for our first night.
The second day, we rode to Azay-sur-Indre, where we visited the nice town and we had lunch before going to Saint-Jean-Saint-German, where we stopped at the creek to take a bath. The water was chilly but super clean and fun. From here, a little detour to Sennevieres will give you an amazing ride in the countryside.
The third day we proceeded towards Villedieu-sur-Indre, stopping for lunch at a superb restaurant in Buconazay. This day, such as the second one, gave bucolic views of the french countryside. Our trip finished with Chateauroux, where on the fourth day we took the train back to Paris.
