A 9-day trip between Malaysia and Singapore

After arriving at the airport in Singapore, where we also slept for our first night, such an incredible experience, we took the bus that dropped us off in Malaysia and we rented a car to start our roadtrip. The first stop was Malecca (240 km-3h15), the old capital. This city is unique, the first stop in this country was probably the most beautiful stop in Malaysia. From there we drove to the new capital Kuala Lumpur (150 km-2h), where we had dinner in the local market. Yummy.

We spent the following day sighseeing the city, and just WOW! We went all the way up to the Sky Deck, from where we could see the entire skylie. At the end of the day we stopped at the Batu Caves (15 km-20 min), reachable after 260 steps. We drove then to George Town (350 km-4h).

We visited George Town the following day, famous for the UNESCO site of Fort Cornwallis. I was not impressed with this city, but probably the weather had something to do with it. Moreover, it was the end of the high season, so there were not too many people around, whiwh probably killed the vide. After the visit we started driving to the Cameron Highlands (250 km-3h45), where tea plantations are found, and on the way we stopped to the Snake Temple in Bayan Lepas. After the Cameron Highlands, we drove to Taman Negara National Park (260 km-4h15), an amazing jungle experience. After the hike and a boat ride we got back in the car and drove to Besut (510 km-6h), where we slept one night before taking the ferry to the Perenthian Islands. We stayed on the islands for two nights, and we got a chance to snorkle. Another time, in my personal experience I visited more beautiful islands, but as stated we went there at the end of the high season, so of course the weather and the vibe are not the same. This was our last stop in Malaysia before going back to Singapore. We slept one last night in Malaysia close to the border in Johor Bahur (640 km-7h), and in the morning we arrived to the country early in the morning so that we could visit it! Of course we had to sleep for our last night at the Marina Bay Sands! Singapore was a great stop, we visited the Chinatown, the Gardens by the bay, Orchard Road, and the city is spotless!
