Sardinia

Beautiful sea, beautiful beaches.. but is Sardegna really just this ? Of course not! They have a deep
culture thanks to their old tradition and history. The island is really a treasure in Italy, and luckily
enough, I am here to tell you what I love the most about the northern part of Sardinia!

If you only have two days to spend in the North, I would go to Costa Smeralda, famous for its
emerald water and fanciness. We arrived in Olbia and we rented a car at the airport (Viaggiare rent),
and we directly drove to Liscia di Vacca. We hanged out at the beach and then we drove to Poltu
Quatu and Capo Ferro. In the evening we had dinner at la Marina di Porto Cervo, and be careful,
reserve your table!

The following day we drove to Pevero, and we left the car at the parking of
Spiaggia del Principe (they do not accept cards, so have cash with you, 18€ for the day). From there
we walked to Spiaggia del Romazzino, but if you want to do the trekking like us, you may as well start
from here. The first beach is super nice, but then you will walk on concrete to reach the other one.
From there we tried to find the Pevero trekking (we failed), but we arrived at La Capaccia, where we
had an amazing view. From there, we hiked on the rocks and we were able to find the path that took
us to Cala Liccia and La Spiaggia del Cervo. We followed directions towards La Madonna dello
Speronello, and we decided to adventure ourselves on the rock rather than on the road. We arrived
(with effort, bear in mind) at il Grande Pevero and Piccolo Pevero. After Lunch, we decided we
wanted an ice cream so we walked towards Gelateria Pace (delicious, but you are walking on a big
road, so be careful). From there, we walked back to the car (keep in mind Sardegna is hilly, so always
have water with you). You will pass by amazing houses, but the trekking that was supposed to be 7
km became 22 km. We were exhausted, so we did not stop at Cala di Volpe or Spiaggia dell’Elefante,
and we went directly to Porto Rotondo.

If on the other hand, you want to discover La Maddalena, read below! From the airport in Olbia you
will need to take a bus: ideally the Turmo Travel bus will take you directly to the Harbour in Palau,
but if the timing does not match, you can take the bus 10 from the airport to Olbia, and then the bus
601 to the harbour in Palau. You need to purchase ahead only the tickets for the bus 601. Once you
arrive in Palau, different ferries may take you to Maddalena, and you can buy your tickets directly
there (they pass once every 15 min in high season).
In Maddalena I recommend you to rent a scooter (many rentals are found in the harbour), and just
use the app “La Maddalena” to check the wind and the best beaches for the day. They are all
beautiful. If you want to see Caprera, you can use the bridge to cross (you can hike on this island as
well), or just rent a small boat and do a tour of the islands (Budelli, Spargi, Razzoli and Santa Maria).
My favoureit beach was “il Velo della Madonna” in Budelli.
